Details, Please!

So we are getting down in the count down until my wedding day! It's a very exciting, and hectic time.  One thing I've heard over and over again, is to relax, and soak it in. When I first heard that, of course, the first thing shooting through my mind was, "RELAX??!?", but then it hit me, everyone is right. This only happens one time in your life.

The Groomsmen's Ties, from Southern Proper
On a side note, I ordered these through Fairclough & Co. in Charlotte, NC.
The service was amazing! Highly recommended!

After really thinking about that with 25 days and counting, I've decided to really enjoy it. As a photographer, there is always one thing in particular, you realllly enjoying photographing.  For me, it has to be details. It amazes me how you can capture something so "everyday" and simple, and make a beautiful, memorable photograph out of it. These pictures are of the things that people (and brides) spend thousands of minutes planning, and at the end of the day could easily be forgotten about, or didn't get to see it and the night begins.  Just think about those 200 place cards you found off of a Do-it-yourself website that took you, and your 5 other bridesmaids a week to make. Of course you want pictures of those!
Bridemaids Gifts from Dolce & Dimora in Greensboro, NC.
Yet another great store, and perfect service. Thank you!!

With this being said, I'm going to treasure the details. My plan is to everyday, or almost everyday document these details with my camera. These are special times I never want to lose in these next few 'hectic' weeks, and I hope this will motivate future brides will do the same!

Just relax, and soak it in.

Mission Website: Complete!

So when I started this blog, I thought I would use this as a website, until I "really" knew what I wanted to do with a website. Once you actually start looking into buying the whole package of a website, you realize how much of an investment it is.  After taking the time to work on my photography, and letting the thought of trying to do this as a career sink in, I just went for it. I'm so glad I did!

Something to keep in mind when you are considering this idea is RESEARCH! I don't want to know how much time I spent on researching different online services for allll of your website needs, but it is definitely necessary.  I ended up going with qufoto.com. It's very easy to manage, clean, and simple.

So please take a look, and tell me what you think! Feedback is always great!

Snowflake Ball Pictures!

                                                    ALL IMAGES ©ANNA PASCHAL

Hello Everyone! Here are just a FEW of the many pictures taken last night from the Snowflake Ball.  Please come back to see all the pictures which will be on a different website early in the week. It seems like the night was an success! The ball was beautiful, and everyone did such an amazing job.  In the photos above, you will see a few of the decorations, candid shots, and entrance photos from the beginning of the night.  Everyone who wanted to, got the chance to take a picture with their date once they came into the Grand Room. I really enjoyed doing this, and everyone looked great. My good friend Emma Blaylock is pictured above with her date! You can also see Miss USA, who was there for most of the night.
Like I said before, I loved doing this. After initially talking to Leslie, who is the director of the Free Clinic, to volunteer to be the photographer for the night, we were able to start planning some of what needed to be done.  Before the actual Ball, I visited the Free Clinic two different times to take pictures for the slide show that would play at the Ball that night.  I went during patient office hours to do candid shots of the many volunteers who take part in helping, but also the many individuals who depend on this service.  You never realize how vital a service like this is until you see the impact it makes on the community. I was lucky to get the chance to give back, and enjoyed being a part of such a wonderful organization.

The 2010 Snowflake Ball

It is finally here, the weekend of to 2010 Snowflake Ball. For those of you who don't know much about the Snowflake Ball, click here to read about the details! The Snowflake Ball is a Charity Gala to benefit the Free Clinic of Rockingham County. This helps to continue the funding for the Free Clinic, which many people desperately need in this area. The Clinic provides Primary Medical care, Dental care, and Pharmaceutical Services. It is exciting to get the chance to help support something so important to so many individuals.

Tickets are $50 per person, and the event is taking place at the beautiful Chinqua Penn Plantation! I went to the first Ball in 2008, and it was just amazing. There was a huge heated tent with a dance floor and great big band music! Also, guests will get the chance to snag a picture with Miss U.S.A.

Can't make it to the Ball? Check back here for photos of the exciting event after this weekend, I'll be doing the photography!

"So what are you going to do with a studio art degree?"

After graduating from the one and only UNC, and answering the many questions of what I was going to possibly do with a Studio Art degree, I was lucky enough to land a job in (drumroll please ..) an art studio! Goldbug Studio is in Raleigh, North Carolina, where you can find pounds and pounds of shimmer and glitter. The company was created by Ashley Carter. I started as a studio assistant, in which I helped design and construct gifts from wedding cake toppers to party hats and glitter birds.

While working there, I began to do the photography for Ashley, and soon enough, I was doing most all of the in house photography for Goldbug Studio. Now, even though I've moved to Greensboro, and no longer work as a studio assistant, I am still heading to Raleigh whenever I'm needed to photograph new pieces for the website, or to take style shots for Ashley send to Bergdorf Goodman! Even better, I get to see some of my favorite girls, who I miss like crazy!

Doing this photography for Goldbug Studio got me interested in photography as a career, and just this one job helped me learn so much about the tricks and trades of photography you just can't pick up in school. So go to www.goldbugstudio.com and check out the work, and my photography!

Welcome to the Beginning!

Welcome to Anna Paschal Fine Art & Photography! Creating a website for myself has been a work in progress since college graduation. As you can see, I'm still not there! Using this blog will allow potential customers, (as well as friends and family!), to view my work and watch this interesting journey of starting my business unfold. Enjoy!
